Mt. Furano Nishi-dake

Let me present some photos which may cool off the heat if you are living in a hot and humid place now.

On Saturday 4th June, about one month before, the mountain opening ceremony of Mt. Furano Nishi-dake was held at the top of Furano Ropeway Station with a Shinto priest and attended by Furano Alpine club and climbers.

This vigorous group did start to climb from the bottom of Furano Ropeway Station.

They had to get across several streams.
This water looks fresh!
Yes, it was derived from the lingering snow, so it might have been cold.

Having a rest, they checked the directions.
The slopes became steeper from here.

This picture was taken just before reaching the top of Furano Nishi-dake, showing Mt. Ashibetsu-dake with more remaining snow as a backdrop.
