Typhoon No.13!!
While the typhoon #12 became low atmospheric pressure and passed by off the Japan Sea, causing serious damage in the southern part of Japan, the new one developed in the Pacific!
The Meteorological Agency is warning landslides and floods especially in Iwate prefecture and Hokkaido.
It was cloudy and partly rainy in Furano today. It looks calm so far.
But some areas in Hokkaido along the Pacific ocean still have heavy rain warnings because of the typhoon #13.
The wet will continue for a few more days.
We must take the weather as it comes :-((

The 2 biggest industries of Furano are agriculture and tourism.
Both of them are seriously affected by the weather.
The farmers were tremendously busy harvesting onions before the arrival of the typhoon.
JR lines and the roads have been partly blocked by landslides caused by the heavy rain.
We sometimes have no option but to pray for good weather.
But one of the visitors bought an umbrella this morning.
And he believes that stops the rain :D

The edge of a typhoon!
Even though the eye of the typhoon No.12 is wandering across Honshu more than a 1,000 km to the south, the effects are being felt in Furano.
After several sunny days, the heavens opened!!!
Heavy rain with occasional strong winds have soaked Furano, bringing flood warnings.
There were landslides, soil erosion and flooded roads.
The river was extremely high and fast!!
Schools canceled after-school activities so that children could get home safely :D
