FTA had a chance to go out on the mountain yesterday – incredible!!!

People were coming down to the chair lifts with irrepressible smiles, because they were soaking in waist-deep powder making beautiful splashes.

Today it’s cold, maybe around – 10 degrees but the sun is shining. People are cruising through the left over snow :)

Avalanche in the Premium Zone

The Premium Zone has been closed for more than 1 month because of a risk of avalanche.
Yesterday there was an avalanche which began below the start of the Premium Zone.
You can only see that area from the Kitanomine gondola.
Never enter the Premium Zone when it is officially closed.
It is extremely dangerous!

Winter storm watch

According to the weather forecast, we had about 50 % chance of snow today.
Actually it has been snowing since this morning adding more than 20 cm of new snow.

The snowy days and cold temperature will continue through the week.
This means the skiing conditions in Furano are good now!!
